Cambelts

The cambelt is one of the most important maintenance components in your car. The cambelt synchronises the rotation of the crankshaft and the camshaft so that the engine valves open and close at the right times. If a cambelt is not changed when it is due to be, it can snap and depending on the type of engine that you have, very expensive, serious damage can occur. A good rule of thumb is to have your cambelt changed after every 40,000 to 60,000 miles of driving or about every 5 years. If you’re not sure, get in touch with IVC Leeds, where our team will be happy to answer your questions and give you a quote for any work which needs doing.
